Julie Mitchell, Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor, Certified Nutritionist
Where did The Nutrition and Wellness Center come from? Julie Mitchell’s passion for wellness for her family and herself. It all began in the early 90s when it wasn’t cool, popular or as accessible. Motivated by her oldest son’s multiple rounds of antibiotics before the age of 5 (which brought no long term relief), she sought out a nutritionist who had healed himself from a crippling form of arthritis, also her brother-in-law, Steve Steeves, who is married to her best friend, role model, and sister, Amy).
During this stressful time for Julie, she experienced extreme fatigue as a stay-at-home mom of four children under 6, and had digestive problems as well as hormonal imbalances. So began the wonderful journey of wellness for her which won’t stop until the day the Lord calls her home.
Julie continues to discover many treasures of truth along this path for herself, her family, and now thousands of clients she has seen over the years. She knows healing comes from within and that it is necessary to find out why the body is not healing as God designed it; which is based on one or a combination of three things: malnutrition, toxicity (microbes, metals, chemicals), and trauma (physical or emotional). The body must be able to digest food properly, drain/filter toxins out of it, and openly communicate through the neuro-endocrine system in order to heal properly. She believes the foundation of everyone’s healing is grounded in what we: EAT, DRINK, THINK, and DO.
Julie is a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor, Certified Nutritionist, and Certified Natural Health Professional, founder of The Nutrition and Wellness Center, teacher, and functional medicine educator, who focuses on personalized wellness programs designed to empower individuals to live a full, healthy life. She shares her expertise in bio-energetic medicine, goal setting, lifestyle coaching, menu planning, colon hydrotherapy, nutrient programs and body composition measuring with individuals and families, and their unique situations.

She also believes in continually educating herself through seminars and also provides multiple opportunities for clients to come to the office for wellness classes.
Julie married her college sweetheart, Jeff and they have 4 children, Nick, Allie, Lizzie, Calvin, and 2 dogs, Jack and Zoey. She enjoys playing with all of them, any kind of adventure (almost any), reading, spending time with her 10 siblings when she gets the chance, plus staying fit through running, cycling, and group classes at the gym. She has spent the past 20 years encouraging and guiding her family and others in their journey of overall wellness. Her passion is to see others not only live disease and pain free lives but also ones full of energy, stamina, hope, and most of all…love and joy!
