Fertile-Soil-with-dad-and-son-1200x800.jpeg

There once was a story about a sower whose seeds fell on different soil or terrains with different kinds of outcomes. The condition of the soil where the seed was dropped effected the growth process. The development of life never had to do with the vitality of the seed, but the environment in which it was found. The seed was never able to take root and grow to fullness until it was put into fertile ground that allowed for the healthy growth process to be completed. (Matthew 13:3-23) If we take this same truth principle and apply it to the human body we can get a deeper understanding of why people go through the process of health or disease. Be it cancer, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, arthritis, chronic fatigue or any other ailment, the only way a person has a fighting chance to survive with vitality is within the healthy ground of a human body.

Pierre Jacques Antoine Béchamp (1816 –1908) was a French scientist who had contentions with a more famous French scientist, Louis Pasteur (1822-1895).  Béchamp claimed discovery of the “molecular granulations” which lead to his cell theory. The research lead him to believe that bacteria could not invade a healthy animal and cause disease, but instead an unfavorable host and environmental conditions threatened the host’s healthy microbiome (a vast army of microbes in the body).  He stated they break down the host tissue by producing pathogenic bacteria. Claude Bernard (1813-1878), also a French scientist, agreed with Béchamp and his cell theory of disease thriving in a poor-quality terrain.  On the other side of the coin, Pasteur said that many diseases are caused by microorganisms in his germ theory. These small organisms which invade humans, animals, and other living hosts, multiply within their hosts and cause disease. It has also been speculatively said that Pasteur (on his death bed) recanted the germ theory saying, “Bernard was correct. I was wrong. The microbe (germ) is nothing. The terrain (milieu) is everything.”

If we are going to battle an enemy, one of the most important components will be a strong army. This army must be made up of healthy individuals that have been trained for physical strength and have the most powerful weapons to destroy the enemy. I would consider cancer to be an enemy within every person or animal. Since it is a fact that everyone has cancer cells, then it is also a fact that we have the enemy living within. We have been created with an internal military system that seeks out to destroy cancer cells, but more importantly the toxins that feed the growth of cancer cells, be it bacteria, virus, fungus, metals, chemicals. It is called our immune system which is powerful and on alert, ready to seek out and destroy the enemy.

We want to do everything in our power to strengthen our immune system. The National Institute of Health led over 200 researchers and 80 universities in the Human Microbiome Project that proved our bodies are made up of more microbes than cells as it studied 242 individuals. And since a large amount of our immune system is in our gut and made up of microbes, it makes sense that we should pay attention to how we feed our cells as well as our gut microbes. Foods that support immune function and gut health are not going to be found in highly processed foods, antibiotic feed animals, mercury filled fish, grossly pesticide sprayed grains, fruits, and vegetables. Clean-eating contributes to the building of  clean environments where the body is able to self-correct from within! Proper ratios of the macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats) are just as important as the micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). If you are struggling with figuring out how to do this or need support, find a professional or center that specializes in healing holistically using elements of the earth to encourage natural healing from within the body. We are here to support you in this process!

The father of immunology, Dr. Eli Metchnikoff said, “Death begins in the colon.” That was stated back in 1908, when he won the noble prize in medicine for his work with the immune system. So how can we support a healthy colon? It starts by eating and drinking natural elements that are able to be broken down by the digestive system and utilized by the cells. Some people have compromised gut walls as well as production of hydrochloric stomach acid, pancreatic enzymes, flow of bile, and gut flora. Since the health of the whole body has everything to do with the health of the individual cells that lie within it, there will be those who need digestive support so the cells of the body are able to get nutrients broken down to allow them to run properly.  Healthy digestion is shown with proper elimination which can be anywhere from 1-3 healthy bowel movements a day.  If you are struggling with this you may want to consider trying a few of these things: drink ½ your body weight in water daily, increase your vegetable intake to increase your fiber intake, discuss probiotic, herbal and/or fiber supplementing with your healthcare and holistic practitioner. Since the colon is one of the main drainage pathways of the body that supports elimination of body toxins, colon hydrotherapy is a great option for supporting of peristalsis, hydration and sanitizing of the colon.

Dr. Francis Collins, the Director of the National Institute of Health says, “Genetics loads the gun and environment pulls the trigger.” Those of us who are reading this have loaded guns with genetic potential to have our inherited strengths or weaknesses play out. It doesn’t matter what we have gone through in the past (sickness, heartbreak, stress, anything that has tried to break us down), our bodies have the FULL potential to change their genetic expression toward wellness and vitality as we begin to change for the better what we EAT, DRINK, THINK, and DO. And for some people, proper guidance from a professional, with addition of herbs, nutrients, essential oils, and therapies will bring them to a whole new level of life expression!

It is so hot outside! I was on a 4-mile walk yesterday and all I could think about was getting a tall, cool glass of water. Thankfully, when I got done, I had an amazing glass of pure water.

According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%.

Crazy to think how important water is to every part of our bodies. It can affect our well being, emotions, and definitely our choices. Well hydrated people are more likely to be balanced in their body, soul and spirit thus giving rise to healthier relationships and work output.

KEY POINTS TO KNOW:

  • Always drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water every day (more if you are working out and sweating)
  • Cut out carbonated drinks (and replace it with something like lemon water)
  • Make efforts to drink filtered water (buy a Brita or get a filtered water system at your house)
  • May want to add liquid minerals to your water to replace lost electrolytes

Also, sometimes when you have food cravings, you may not be hungry… but thirsty! Next time you reach for a snack, drink a glass of water first.

I used to walk in fear of fats! Butter, oils, anything that had high fat and calories… I was afraid. A lot of people are afraid of fats… You shouldn’t be! Healthy fats, like omega-3 EFAs in flax oil, salmon, pumpkin seeds, fish oils, and walnuts will help nourish you (both physically and mentally). To me, it’s like BRAIN FOOD.

Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid, a healthy fat, that your body uses to support a range of bodily processes such as the immune system, mood management, cholesterol regulation, and more.

I put flax oil in my smoothies every morning, and notice a huge difference in my day! I’m able to come across clearer to people, work better, and feel a real difference in my work day.

“You love what is right, and hate what is wrong. Therefore, God, your God, has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than anyone else.” -Hebrews 1:9

7 Ways to Walk in Wellness Freedom

by Julie Mitchell

The Fourth of July allows us the celebration of the beginning, the foundation, of our great country. On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress gave its stamp of approval to the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. A document that wasn’t perfect but one that gave room for growth, creation, and deliverance. Moving into freedom means moving out of oppression.

Webster defines oppression as
a. unjust or cruel exercise of authority or power.
b. a sense of being weighed down in body or mind.

Here are a couple of questions to ponder, “have you ever been bullied”, “have you ever been a bully”, or “have you ever seen someone being bullied”? Inevitably the answer is, “YES”. A bully is over-powering, cruel, mean, over-controlling and doesn’t listen. A bully suppresses freedom.

Are we a bully to ourselves? If we have any symptom at all, be it a headache, constipation, fatigue, reoccurring infection, itching skin, frequent urination, leg cramps, poor circulation, the list could go on and on…The body is giving us a clue that things are out of balance. If we learn to stop and listen to our body, we may be able to begin the process of understanding our body’s voice that is speaking. To deny the voice, is to bully ourselves, inflict unjust or cruel exercise of authority and power. If we had the power to give a thirsty 5-year-old a drink of water, but denied access, that would be cruel. What things are we currently denying or doing to ourselves that would be considered mean, cruel, overpowering, and oppressive when it comes to our state of wellness? Consider these:

5 Ways Bullying Overtakes Wellness

1. When we are fatigued, we grab for stimulants like sugar, caffeine, salt, or nicotine. The body is begging for something of value, and these are not them.
2.  We don’t allow ourselves opportunities to drink the water our body needs to run the multiple systems that require hydration for optimal performance. Coffee, tea, soda, bottled juice, artificial flavored drinks, and sports drinks do not count for the water intake and add to the toxic burdens on the body.
3.  We overwork without giving ourselves a break. This causes over-firing of stress hormones which compounds fatigue, digestive and sleeping issues to name only a few.
4.  Instead of building relationships around us in the physical, we spend time on social media or computer games. Isolation is cruel, we are made to co-exist in meaningful relationships.
5.  We allow our blood sugar to drop by skipping meals and snacks…let’s just say fat storage opportunities abound here.

Like our country’s Declaration of Independence, we need to form a lifestyle (a powerful document) that allows freedom to be well in our body, soul, and spirit. Here are some ideas to get you started:

7 Ways to Walk in Wellness Freedom

1.  Eat every 3-4 hours, including some form of protein.
2.  Drink half our body weight in ounces of water daily.
3.  Take breaks throughout the day, even if its 5 minutes, and include a lunch break away from our work area.
4.  Purpose to belly breathe throughout the day to help adapt to daily stress and increase mental clarity.
5.  Spend time in physical conversations/quality time with friends and family for minimum of 30 minutes a day. Limit social media/computer games/tv to equal time.
6.  Formulate a plan for personal development like learning a new skill, group book study, read inspiring books, etc.
7.  Budget for wellness that may include lifestyle coaching, nutritional supplementing, colon hydrotherapy, massages, chiropractic care, acupuncture, ionic foot cleanses, infrared sauna sessions, neurofeedback training, etc.

Webster defines fatigue as the state of being very tired.  It goes on to say it is the temporary loss of power to respond that is induced in a sensory receptor or motor end organ by continued stimulation. Some of us have experienced both mild and debilitating fatigue. I remember being so exhausted  years ago that I was fearful of falling asleep at the wheel while running errands with my 4 children. Fatigue can change the outcome of our life if we don’t deal with it.  It wasn’t until I began to deal with the underlying causes of my fatigue that I began to experience the return of vitality to my spirit, body, and mind. By God’s grace and supernatural wisdom, He has taught me, through the Holy Spirit, how to look for these underlying causes. I’ve also discovered the power each of us has within to heal from the inside out. I have learned what I need, what I don’t need, what I need to let go of, new habits, what support I need, etc, to bring about manifested healing which expresses itself as ENERGY to live an ABUNDANT LIFE!

7 Reasons Why You May Be Tired All The Time:

1. Nutrient Deficiency

Did you know that Low Vitamin D, Low Vitamin B and/or Low Iron can create extreme fatigue that no amount of caffeine will help with?

2. Imbalance of Macro nutrients

Are you eating the proper ratios of Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Fats to support energy output?

3. Adrenal Burnout

Did you know you may be a bully…to yourself? Are you an “Adrenalholic”(a term I created that describes someone addicted to his/her stress hormones)?

4. Toxic Load

Is your body being robbed of energy by toxins like Microbes(viral, bacterial, yeast, molds, parasite), Metals, or Chemicals? Did you know it takes a lot of energy to store toxins in the body if the main drainage systems aren’t working properly?

5. Foods/Drinks

Are you consuming “Splinter Foods and Drinks” that are painful for the body to have to deal with and fatigue is a result of these habits?

6. Poor Digestion

Are you having difficulty breaking down foods because of low hydrochloric acid, low enzymes, congested gallbladder, or backed up bowels?

7. Poor Sleep Hygiene

Did you realize that if “You Snooze(7-8hours of uninterrupted sleep), You Win”!

If you want to learn more about how to find the underlying cause of your fatigue, we are here to support you!
